Serviam Partners With Orange County-based Food Bank to Increase Donations During Time of Crisis

Known to most as the sleepy, affluent community just south of Los Angeles, Orange County is not typically a location that comes to mind when considering food insecurity. But Serviam by Wright LLP, along with the other supporters of Second Harvest Food Bank, which serves more than 300,000 people dealing with hunger in Orange County, know this is an oversight.

That’s why now, with even more families struggling with poverty and food insecurity due to the COVID-19 crisis, Serviam by Wright LLP has stepped up to help.

For the next three months, the firm is going to match donations to the Second Harvest Food Bank, up to $500 per month. These donations will provide critical support to the organization, which is already making major changes to its distribution and volunteer practices to avoid spreading the illness while feeding OC’s vulnerable population. Their current focus is purchasing enough shelf-stable foods – such as peanut butter, oatmeal, and potatoes – to see families through this period of uncertainty.

“No one should worry about going hungry in this day and age, especially here in Orange County where there is an abundance of resources,” says Founding Partner Curtis Wright. “There are many people suffering right now, and we want to do our part to help those with the greatest needs. I am honored that our firm has the opportunity to help.”

According to Second Harvest Food Bank’s website, each dollar donated helps to provide three meals to those in need. Meaning by the end of July, S&W will have supported as many as 4,500 meals.

“Every dollar counts, particularly right now when we are purchasing truckloads of shelf-stable food to feed local families in need,” says Claudia Keller, Second Harvest Food Bank’s Chief Mission Officer. “We’re so grateful to Serviam by Wright LLP for recognizing the need in their community and generously stepping up to help. Donations like theirs help us continue our mission to end hunger in Orange County.”

“It’s a difficult time and many people are struggling,” says Matt. “But now is when those in need truly need us most. I encourage anyone who is able to donate what they can. Getting to the other side of this situation needs to be a community effort.”
