Through Serviam Cares, the firm’s community giving initiative, Serviam was proud to return as a sponsor of the Fontana Police 18th Annual K9 Pals Golf Tournament, held on Friday, October 23, 2026, at Indian Hills Golf Club in Riverside, California. After supporting the 17th Annual tournament last year, the firm was glad to be back on the course for a cause that has quickly become a Serviam tradition.
Supporting the Officers Who Serve on Four Legs
The tournament is organized by Fontana K9 Pals, a California 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to the Fontana Police Department’s K9 Unit. All proceeds go directly to the unit, funding the training, equipment, and resources that keep the department’s K9s—and the community they protect—safe.
Police K9 teams are called on in some of the most demanding moments of law enforcement work, and their effectiveness depends on consistent training, reliable equipment, and attentive care. Community events like this one help close the gap between what a K9 program needs and what a department budget alone can provide.
Golfers checked in early, with registration opening at 6:30 AM over coffee and donuts, before heading out for a full round complete with on-course games, raffle prizes, and food and beverages throughout the day. The tournament wrapped up with a dinner and awards banquet recognizing the players and sponsors who made the day possible.

Serviam on the Course
In addition to the firm’s sponsorship, Serviam Chief Operating Officer Allison Sousae took to the fairways to represent the firm. It was a morning of friendly competition, good conversation with members of the law enforcement community, and—as always—a few shots best left off the scorecard.

“Our K9 officers and their handlers are called into some of the most difficult situations in public safety, and the community they protect plays a real part in keeping them trained and equipped,” said Allison Sousae, Chief Operating Officer at Serviam by Wright LLP. “Coming back to this tournament was an easy decision. It is a privilege to stand behind the Fontana Police Department and the dogs who serve alongside its officers.”
Service Beyond the Courtroom
The firm’s name comes from the Latin serviam—“We will serve”—and Serviam Cares is how the firm carries that name into the communities it works in. As a law firm representing California’s cities, counties, and public agencies, including the law enforcement agencies Serviam defends through its Liability & Police Defense practice, the firm sees firsthand the dedication of the officers who keep local communities safe. Supporting the Fontana Police K9 Unit is a natural extension of that work.
This year, the K9 Pals tournament joins the 2026 Rivals Cup Golf Tournament benefiting Kure It Cancer Research among the causes Serviam Cares has been proud to support.
