Serviam by Wright LLP Founding Partner Curtis Wright will moderate a session on code enforcement during the 2020 League of California Cities (League) Annual Conference and Expo, Oct. 7-9 in Long Beach. City of Sacramento Code & Housing Chief Peter Lemos and former CACEO Code Enforcement Officer President and City of Duarte Code Enforcement Manager Larry Breceda will round out the panel, which will discuss how code enforcement services have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Additional panelists to be announced.
The trio will offer advice to the conference attendees on how cities can re-examine available resources to help maximize response effectiveness and public safety during a pandemic. The 60-minute discussion, “Code Enforcement During a Pandemic: Lessons Learned,” will also cover relevant statutes, case law, lessons learned, and best practices.
“The COVID-19 pandemic is changing how local government and code enforcement departments operate, and we’re grateful to support public agencies as they adapt to these unprecedented times,” said Curtis. “The League’s Annual Conference will provide an important forum to share our experiences handling the pandemic. We hope our panel will offer comprehensive insights on code enforcement so cities can effectively prepare for the future.”
The 2020 Annual Conference and Expo will serve as a key event for city staff, elected officials, and others in the local government space to discuss best practices, network, and celebrate accomplishments. Serviam by Wright LLP also will host a booth in the Expo Hall during the conference to converse with public agency leaders and conference attendees.
